Zero Engineering was founded in Japan in 1992 but they established a US subsidiary in Vegas and started selling some of their limited production choppers to Americans starting in 2008. They currently offer four models, and the “Type 5” is one of their “more simplistic” bikes: a Gooseneck rigid frame wraps around a S&S Evo motor and a 5-speed Rivera Primo transmission. That’s pretty much it.
The frame and springer front end are both made in Japan, and the standard fuel tank is a 2.1 gallon unit. The standard motor in the Type 5 is a 80 cubic inch S&S Evo and the starting price is $24,180 – for more information on this model, head on over to Zero Engineering’s website.
This example has 725 miles and it was recently serviced by Bill Allen. The owner installed the optional 96″ motor with an open primary, but what I think is even cooler is the painting of the bike that will be included. It sure looks an awful lot like Makoto Endo’s work!
