Not Orange – 1984 Laverda RGS

In Italy, Touring by Abhi1 Comment

Post Listing Update: This RGS did not meet reserve despite 15 bids up to $8,500.

A true sport tourer, the Laverda RGS was one of the last manifestations of the big triple, though it was much tamer than the beloved Jota unit thanks to different crankshaft timing and rubber engine mounts. Some felt that the engine lost a bit of character in the process, but it became a much easier bike to tour on – especially with the half fairing.

This example (VIN: ZLVMVDHASE00000220 has 17,000 miles and is in ‘original, unrestored condition’. It’s claimed to be stunning overall with some small paint chips on the front fairing, and it’s been run with half premium and half 110-octane gas in its time with the seller, who has had it for 14 years. It seems that the seller hasn’t run it much in the last year, though he just started it before the listing. Extras include a period Moto Witt ignition/coil packs, Corbin seat, and factory optional racing exhaust – original items are all included.
