Post Sale Update: This custom CB sold for $8,200 after 14 bids on eBay.
Original Post (4-12-19): I’ve shared a couple of Randakk’s custom Honda builds in the past, such as this supercharged CBX and this supercharged GL1000. But today’s feature is a highly customized CB1100F, which pairs nicely with the stock example just shared a few minutes ago. Current bidding is within a few hundred bucks and the listings end within a few hours of each other. Which bike will sell for more?
I like the stock CB1100F just fine, but if I had the choice I’d want to take this build (VIN: JH2SC1107DM002922) home with me. This is Randakk’s “vision for a proper cafe racer. Great looks combined with race-bike performance capabilities” where all-out speed was not the goal. Highlights include hand-formed aluminum bodywork by Al Bergler, Jim Sawtell muffler, GSX-R 1100 front suspension, Nissin 6-piston front calipers, 1,123cc big bore kit, Yamaha R1 starter clutch, Setrab oil cooler, CR round slide carbs, Race Tech shocks, Spiegler stainless steel brake lines, Dynatek 2000 electronic ignition, a prototype steering damper, and a whole lot more. There’s a few of Randakk’s in-house parts, such as the intake clamps, oil filter conversion kit, fuel filters, and Gen II Amazing Grips.
It’s not perfect – the seller lists a few “nits” in the eBay ad, such as how loud the exhaust is or the fact that the Koso speedometer will need to be reset every 6 months or so. For more details, check out Randakk’s build thread here or click this link for over 200 photos. The eBay link also has links to multiple videos of cold starts and dyno runs.
