Sorry – this one’s a bit later than usual. I’m still on the road to Vegas with Spurgeon in a Ural, so I figured we could all take a look back today. One of the requests I got from the Reader Survey was to update y’all with the results of featured bike listings. I thought that was a good idea – hopefully you’ve seen in the past that I sometimes update a post with the final sale price, if I’m able to find it. But that requires you to go back in the past. So I’m going to try something new at the end of each month where I look back at what I thought were the most interesting features, and then let you know what the final sale prices were. Let’s take a look at October 2016.
Obviously, this will only include listings from eBay (or other auction sites). I unfortunately have no way of finding out final sale prices of bikes offered on Craigslist/Cycle Trader/Kijiji/etc. With that said, here are some highlights from last month – thanks to reader Eric H, I’m also including locations of the sales as well:
1 of 12 – 2009 NCR Ducati Mike Hailwood TT – sold for $110,100 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Incomplete – 1933/4 Comerford-Special JAP Speedway Racer – sold for $5,799 after 25 bids on eBay in Grant, Florida.
1970 BSA Firebird – sold for $5,000 after 14 bids on eBay in Dallas, Texas.
1982 Honda CB1100R – sold for $14,500 after 16 bids in Vernon-Rockville, Connecticut.
Early Laverda – 1969 American Eagle 750S – sold for $10,400.00 after 32 bids in Dundas, Ontario, Canada.
1986 Moto Guzzi 1000 Cafe Racer – sold for $7,100 after 21 bids on eBay in Monrovia, California.
One Owner – 1983 Suzuki XN85 Turbo – sold for $7,500 after 33 bids in Burbank, California.
Flathead V8 Power – 1973 Honest Charley – sold for $14,500 in Westfield, Massachusetts.
Here’s some stuff that didn’t sell:
1 of 2400 – 1977 Triumph Bonneville Silver Jubilee – did not meet reserve at $6,500 despite 30 bids in Austin, Texas.
Zanzani Replica Racer – 1961 Motobi Sprite 250 – did not meet reserve with 13 bids up to $3,150 in Greer, South Carolina.
What surprised you? I was impressed to see that the NCR sold for so much!
