One of the first semi-popular supermotos in the US, the KTM Duke II was a revelation for the lucky few that got to enjoy it. Lots of sportbike riders looked down upon a bike with “just” 50 horsepower, but the comfortable ergonomics and light weight made this an excellent hooligan bike. Get used to riding with the front wheel off the ground!
KTM’s LC4 engine was good for 50 horsepower and 40 miles per gallon. The bike weighs just 320 pounds. For more on the Duke II, check out this review from MCN, which ends with “the Duke’s a mad indulgence, but it’s one of the most charismatic and beautiful motorcycles you can buy.” I’m going to disagree with the ‘beautiful’ description, but if you’ve never ridden a supermoto yet, this is a great way to get addicted.
This example has 5,200 miles but it looks incredibly clean. The seller, who is the original owner, says it’s in showroom condition. Find this Duke II for sale in Dallas, Texas for $4,500 here on ADVRider (registration required).
