In their review of the 625 SXC, Dirt Bike magazine called it “a great, big beast that makes even a Honda 650R seem small.” The XR650R was much more popular, however, and that’s why the big KTM is now a relatively rare find – especially a one-owner bike with just 1,400 miles after a decade and a half of use.
The 625 motor is a single overhead cam liquid cooled thumper. It’s similar to the LC4 motor in KTM’s 640 but it’s missing a balancer shaft (you’ll notice the vibration). Still, high spec components like four-piston Brembo brakes and fully-adjustable WP suspension mean you won’t care about the shaking because you’ll be too busy tearing up corners with a goofy smile on your face. The motor puts out 53 horsepower and it weighs just 321 pounds For more on the big KTM, check out the rest of the review from Dirt Bike Magazine.
This example has just 1,398 miles and it’s said to be in excellent condition with the original Pirelli tires and some spare parts. Find this paint-shaker-disguised-as-a-dirt-bike for sale in Mead, Colorado for $3,800 here on Craigslist.
