Post Listing Update: this 1000S did not get any interest at the opening bid ask of $7,250.

In 1996, a Malaysian group took over the husk of MZ and resolved to build their first superbike. The MV 1000S was born – a 140 mph parallel twin rarity, of which only 30 were brought to the US.

Despite the initial claims, the MZ 1000S ended up more as a sport-tourer. The 999cc engine produced 117 horsepower and 72 ft-lb of torque. The decent 40 mpg gave you a tank range of 170 miles, helping with the sport-tourer role. Though it’s very rare here, this bike was reasonably successful in Europe, and it spawned a touring model as well as a naked variant. OEM components weren’t bad, as you got Marzocchi adjustable forks and a Sachs rear shock.

This example (VIN: SNZ10S0075H000838) is being offered by the original owner, who notes that the bike has 7,320 miles. The sale includes the owner’s manual, warranty book, and “most” of the tool kit. It also has several upgrades including a Sebring exhaust, seat cowl, Mototechnik frame sliders, a Power Commander, Vortex stand, and more. You’ll get the original parts and a hard to find spare front fairing. The seller has not been able to ride it due to a pinched nerve. Even though only 30 examples have made it to the US, I’ve featured 5 of them in the last few years, and they typically sell around the $5,000 mark.
