Period Trike Custom – 1952 Harley-Davidson Panhead

In 3 Wheels, America by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Sale Update: This Panhead sold for $10,453 after 43 bids on eBay.

By combining half a Panhead frame and half a Servicar frame, the builder of this custom Harley-Davidson trike has created something infinitely cooler than the average three-wheeler. What does it for me is the inclusion of several period parts, such as the Bates headlight, AEE springer front end, and Torque Twister tires.

Other modifications include a freshly rebuilt S&S Super E carb, Shannon Cone wheel caps, and a new Cycle Electrics solid state generator. This trike was on the cover of Street Chopper magazine in 2012, though it’s got a new front wheel and gas tank since the issue came out. Unfortunately, the seller has lost the title. He says he’ll include it if he can find it or that he’ll apply for a new title if you pay for it, which is a bit annoying.

Here’s a video of its “first cold start in years”:
