It’s going to take me some time to go through my notes to recap my weekend at Mecum, so I’ll leave you with a picture intermission as an appetizer. As I walked through the rows of bikes, I started to focus on some of my favorite gas tanks. Here’s a few photos for you to peruse:
Whether or not you go to buy something, Mecum’s is worth visiting just because it turns the South Point casino into a gigantic motorcycle show and you get to see a wide variety of machines.

I was focused on one detail of a classic Indian, but a Ducati 900SS sits in the background, waiting to be admired.

This Koehler-Escoffier 350 Sloper was offered with no reserve. It sold for $27,500 and it’s now off to Moto Talbott!
Because this auction featured the MC Collection of Stockholm, there were plenty of Swedish bikes to drool over. I never realized how much I love classic Husqvarnas:

This tank belongs to a ’58 Husky Golden Arrow. It sold for $13,750.

This Imme R100 sold for $16,500.

Bob Kelly pointed this fairing out to me, and I had to get a picture of it. The bike sold for $11,000.
