Adorned with “POS” on the tank, this is an interesting custom “dirt fighter” based on a Yamaha Seca II.
I have a bit of a soft spot for the Seca II – I bought one for $600 to start riding again after some time away from riding during school. It wasn’t particularly great at anything, but the riding posture was much better suited for commuting that the average 600cc ‘sport’ bike. The 597cc engine put out 61 horsepower, good for a top speed of 117 miles per hour. MSRP was about $7,499 back in 1993. For more on the Seca II (known outside of the US as the Diversion), check out this write-up from owner Alistair Maclean.
This specific Yamaha Seca II Custom has been heavily modified into a street fighter for the dirt. Modifications include new tires, battery, paint, clipons, and the seat from a Ducati. All the lighting has been converted to LED. In addition, the speedometer has been replaced with a phone that provides GPS functionality as well. It has about 10,200 miles (just 200 after the build) and the suspension is setup for a 175 pound rider.
