Did you know (I sure as hell didn’t) that in 2003, Aprilia released a limited edition of its Caponord dual-sport called the Rally Raid, which was a surprisingly different bike. Between 350-380 were sold – none in the US, so the seller of this bike took it upon himself to acquire Rally Raid specific parts and modify his US model Capo.
Differences include the upper fairing and subframe, better suspension with more travel, center stand, exclusive panniers and paint job, different handlebars, a sump guard and engine guard, and more. For more information on what made the Rally Raid different, check out this link from Moto Abruzzo.
This specific Caponord has many of the Rally Raid parts, specifically including the forks, shocks, and links, which give you adjustable suspension and an increased 8 inches of travel. You’ll also get the Rally Raid side stand, center stand, front fender, wind screen, skid plate, and plenty more. If you have your heart set on a Capo, this might be one of the best ones to take off-road that you’ll find.
