Random Bike Sightings at IoM Classic TT

As I mentioned before, Ted C is across the pond for the IoM. While he’s planning on sharing a detailed trip report once he’s back, he thankfully made some time to share a quick teaser of what he’s been able to see out there, and it’s fantastic:

In Ted’s words:

So, I finally made it to the Isle of Man! This has been a bucket list item for me for many years. I planned this trip around the Manx TT, or Classic TT, which has actually morphed into a two-week long Classic Festival. There are all sorts of vintage road racing, both solo and sidecar, as well as Trials. I never knew it, but they even have Sidecar Trials! I plan to do a trip report about my experiences here, but just felt the need to toss out some photo teasers….One of the best things about a festival like this, much like Mid-Ohio or Barber, for those of you in the US, is that everyone who has ANY sort of an interesting bike, drags it out of the barn, cleans the carbs, and brings it out for all to see. SO many rare and cool bikes, just being ridden around! Here are a few:

Ariel Ace – Honda V4 in a bespoke aluminum frame, with girder fork. Carbon fiber everywhere. When was the last time you saw one of these?
Ariel Ace - Right Side

Bimota Tesi – Ducati V twin with Bimota exotica. Hub-center steering
Bimota Tesi 3D - Right Side

Benelli SEI – just a daily rider out for a spin…..
Benelli 900 Sei - Left Side

Difazio Triumph – more hub-steering weirdness…
Triumph DiFazio Steering - Left Side

Triton – but this was a Trident triple in a Norton frame
Triton Triple - Front Left

TriBSA – was the BSA frame better than Triumph?
TriBSA

Rickman Metisse Street Scrambler – Nice!

Oh, and a Rickman Bonnie racer – Really Nice!
Rickman Triumph Bonneville Racer - Right Side

A trio of Velocettes

This was just a sample. Too many Nortons, Velocettes, Vincents, BSA’s and Triumphs to count….all being ridden. Love it!

Off to the races,
Ted
