Bimota’s “successor” to the SB6 was not officially sold in the US, so it’s rare to see one come up for sale here. I put successor in quotes as the SB6 got a GSX-R 1100 motor while the SB7 utilized a modified version of the water-cooled GSX-R 750 SP motor. The reason for this is that Bimota wanted to compete in World Superbike racing, so displacement was limited. Per homologation rules, 200 examples were built worldwide.
The 750 motor was good for 132 horsepower at 10,000 rpm after Bimota modified the camshafts and exhaust. The last 35 of the 200 bikes were called the “Final Edition”, and that’s what we have here. For more on the SB7, check out this review from Carole Nash. Outside of the motor, in most other ways the SB6/7 were just about identical. This example (VIN: ZES1SB617VR000721) has 5,167 Miles and it has a US title after being imported from Germany, and per the seller it was modified with a custom Power Commander before it was imported. It has also had the bodywork “freshened using paint and decals sourced from the factory.”
Find this SB7 for sale in Raleigh, North Carolina here on Bimota Spirit (it’s about halfway down the page) for $19,900.
