I’ve had a K1200R for a bit over six years now, and I absolutely adore it. However there are a few issues that I tried to rectify (such as the fueling and the clutch feel). I heard that the K1300R fixed most of the issues…but BMW decided that the new bike wasn’t worth selling in the US so I never got a chance to find out for myself! Somehow, a K13R has found its way to Pennsylvania, and I’m very jealous.
MCN calls the K1300R “a bike that almost defies naked bike logic.” I thought it was fantastic – fast, fun, reliable (once a couple of recalls were taken care of), and distinctive (though I readily admit the looks aren’t for everyone). Mine has just under 90k miles on it and I rode it alongside Nathan for a 1,000-miles-in-24-hours story.
The seller of this example (VIN: WB10518099ZV77403) doesn’t explain how he or she got this bike into the US, and it might be difficult to register depending on the state you live in, but it has a US license plate and it has just 7k miles.
