Post Listing Update: This XN85 got no action at the asking price of $6,500.
The rarest of all Japanese production turbo bikes, the XN85 Turbo had just 1,183 examples. Of those, just 300 were imported to the US. This example needs a little work but with some elbow grease and a few bucks you can be a star at your local Japanese motorcycle show.
A few basics – the “85” in the model name came from the horsepower output, courtesy of a low-pressure turbo. This bike was also notable as it was the first factory motorcycle with a 16″ front wheel, which made for an excellent handling bike when combined with the Full Floater rear suspension. Motorcyclist magazine liked it a lot, saying “Nothing works better in the corners than the Suzuki XN85.” If you want more information, check out the only website truly dedicated to the XN85 Turbo.
This bike (VIN: JS1GP71T0D210027) has 7,772 miles but there’s some cosmetic issues – slight oxidation throughout and very heavy oxidation on the master cylinder. Mechanically, the fuel pump has been replaced with a OEM unit from a Kawasaki GPZ750 Turbo, the chain is original, and the rear brake caliper sticks a bit. Other than that, the bike has barely-used tires (though they’re 2 years old) and the bike is said to start and run “perfect.”
