Post-Listing Update: This Tamanaco did not meet reserve despite 42 bids up to $2,226.
Never officially imported to the US, the Cagiva Tamanaco was a diminutive dual-sport that looks like an absolute blast. Look at the stickers on this thing! “Fun & Function”, “Soft Damp”, “Twin Cooler”. Talk about a perfect example of the 80s. On top of all of that, it’s basically brand new!
Ignoring the fact that I still can’t get over the “Fun & Function” decal, the Tamanaco featured a liquid-cooled 125cc engine and it weighed 288 pounds dry. It also had a 6-speed transmission, Marzocchi suspension, and Brembo brakes. If you’re willing to believe the Wikipedia page on this bike (which is of course in Italian, because I couldn’t really find any other source), the 125cc engine put out an impressive 32 horsepower.
This specific Cagiva Tamanaco (VIN: 4P-004388) has just 6 miles and was never sold or titled. The rear turn signals were broken during shipping, otherwise this bike is original. There’s a couple of tiny scratches and some pitting, but most Americans go their entire lives without seeing one of these, let alone in such nice shape.
