I’m still trying to figure out how this bike came to the United States, because Honda never imported them here. But the Varadero has been around since 1999, steadily plugging along as an adventure bike with the heart from a Superhawk.
That means you got a 996cc V-Twin engine which produced 93 horsepower and 72 pound-feet of torque. Gearing was obviously different in this bike than in the ‘SuperChicken’, so top speed was about 125mph, not that anyone really cares what top speed is for an adventure bike. For more information on the Varadero, check out this review from Visordown, who suggest that it was an underrated all-arounder.
This specific Honda Varadero is registered in New Mexico, so hopefully you won’t have trouble with it in your state. It might as well have been a demo bike for Givi, as it comes with saddlebags, trunk, crash bar, and tall windshield all from the company. You’ll also get a Throttlemeister and Oxford heated grips.
Find this Honda Varadero for sale here on Craigslist in Rio Rancho, New Mexico for $9,500.
