8-16 Update: 8 months later and this bike is now up for sale in North Carolina. The seller adds some additional details:

This bike (VIN: CB400FE2100225) was apparently built The Shop in Milwaukee in the early 2000s for vintage racing, competing at Mid-Ohio. That was the last time it was raced. The seller is the 2nd owner and notes that engine mods are limited to (as far as he knows) a one over bore and a ported head. The bike also comes with a deep sump aluminum tank out of The Tank Shop in Scotland, Excel aluminum wheels, new tires, and a full race fairing. The seller offers a MotoGP Werks 4 into 1 pipe separately as well. With all that said, find this bike for sale again with a BIN of $4,000 or best offer in Belmont, North Carolina

Post-Sale Update: This bike sold for $4,150 after 15 bids on eBay.

15 years ago, this Honda CB400F was built to AHRMA specs by The Shop, yet with the exception of missing turn signals it was kept street legal. Obviously, it takes visual inspiration from Honda’s GP racers like the RC166, though it’s only been raced once before doing street duty.

The original build included a rebuilt engine, new clutch, Progressive front fork springs and rear shocks, Excel rims, and more. There’s no key, just a 3-way toggle switch, and the bike has just received a full tune up. It’s ready to ride (or maybe you want to race it?)
