I’ve always thought the Ducati 160 Monza Junior was a little bizarre – it was oddly blocky and squared off. Granted, I appreciate when companies try something different, but I’m still on the fence about how attractive the bike was. Thanks to this reader submission, however, I learned that the first ‘edition’ of the Monza actually featured some rounder bodywork. Take a look and enjoy!
The tiny thumper produced 8 horsepower out of 156cc of displacement, motivating the 245 pound bike up to 65 miles per hour. It featured telescopic front forks and Ducati’s notable bevel drive.
This specific Ducati 160 Monza Junior (VIN: DM160 18430) is being offered by the second owner. It’s been restored to a concourse level – apparently the Petersen Museum tried to grab this bike as part of their collection for 2 years. It’s a beauty, and the seller does a good job getting into details about all the work that was done as part of the restoration work.
