As 1948 rolled around, the Chief was the only model Indian offered. Later that year the Arrow would come around, but that’s a story for another day. Here’s an example that’s been restored to her former glory and recently won a recent People’s Choice Award, to boot.

The Sunshine Yellow paint job sure grabs your attention, and once your retinas have adjusted you may notice a foot operated clutch to help you shift through the three speed transmission, and a whole bunch of period accessories like the saddle bags, windscreen bag, dual Unity lights, crash bars, and more. This bike won People’s Chocie at last year’s Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance, though the trophy will not be included in the sale.
