The “US” of R60US meant it was designed for the American market – changes included telescopic forks, a higher set of handlebars, and a lack of sidecar lugs. This example was restored in 2013 and has just 1,200 miles since the work was done.
This bike (VIN: 1815500) was restored by Apex Cycle Shop, and the work including powdercoating of the frame, swingarm, valve covers, and other miscellaneous parts. The engine was rebuilt with new crank bearings, camshaft bearings, valve springs, pistons/rings, pushrod tubes, and ‘sport’ camshaft. The crankshaft and driveshaft were rebuilt and the cylinders were bored out to the first oversize. Other new parts include the wiring harness, 12V electrical conversion, Hella bar end signals, Bumm mirrors, Denfeld seats, and Baggage Porter luggage.
