I’m still working on my review of the newest entry into the Honda Gold Wing family, but here’s the opposite end of the spectrum – the first year of the legendary touring line. This example was given a “ground up restoration” and it looks excellent.
The original GW wasn’t designed to be a touring bike, but riders quickly realized that the smooth ride, powerful motor, and comfortable ergonomics made it an excellent platform. They started adding all kinds of baubles like fairings and luggage, and that style went on to define what the Gold Wing would be. This example (VIN: HO751016091) has stayed stock and it’s a nice reminder of what Honda’s flagship started as. This bike has 26,503 miles on the odometer but it’s unclear how many miles have been put on since the work was done. You can ride it, show it, or do both!
