From the seller of yesterday’s beautiful Ducati 750 GT custom comes another jewel – this fully restored example of the iconic Katana.

Suzuki Katana GS1000SZ - Cockpit

It all started when Suzuki’s Marketing Manager in Germany said to Japanese management, “We had the most technically advanced bikes, but their design was uninteresting!” Suzuki hired Target Design (led by Hans Muth, ex-chief of BMW’s styling) to update the ‘company image.’ This was his first creation, which was an immediate show-stopper at the Cologne Motor Show in 1980. This example (VIN: JS1GT72A2C2100768) has just under 28,500 miles and it was given a “complete cosmetic and rolling restoration” within the last few years. The original seat was a fake suede/vinyl that the seller could no longer source so he/she has gone with leather. The front fairing is an aftermarket carbon fiber unit and the headlight nacelle (normally black) has been clear coated to show the carbon. Otherwise the rest of the body panels are original or OEM replacements. The seller claims the bike runs and rides like it did from the showroom, and I’m in awe of how good it looks. The seller has only ridden the bike 100 miles since the restoration work was done. Find this Katana for sale in Larkspur, Colorado with bidding up to $7,600 and the reserve not yet met
