Now, did you think I made a typo with the “80” or the “S”? Either way, BMW never made a R80S, but this former R80RT has been converted to look like one, thanks to custom touches like this rear badge:
The bike (VIN: WB1044804D6172242) received plenty of work during the build (seller says he/she has photo documentation to prove it): new fork springs, seals, brake caliper seals, stainless brake lines, rebuilt master cylinder, new brake discs, head tube bearings, swingarm bearings, and more. The fairing is aftermarket and the engine got a new timing chain, rings, seals, and gaskets. Just like the rear badge, the lovely blue pearl is custom.
Everything is claimed to work well except ‘weak’ rear brakes, and the only non-BMW parts are the San Jose fork brace and Brown side stand. It used to be a US bike that was imported into Canada, so hopefully it shouldn’t be too difficult to bring it back.
