In 1986, a New England yacht builder decided to turn his Combat Commando into a show bike by fabricating his own replica Production Racer fairing and front fender out of carbon fiber. While he was in the customizing mood, he also built rearsets and brackets for the seat and fairing out of stainless steel. He turned to Gus Kuhn for the seat and sourced a TT-style gas tank to round out the build, but apparently his paint work wasn’t flawless and so the bike was put away for 20 years. The current seller acquired it in 2012 and “restored it to its former glory keeping as many of the original parts as I could as an homage to the original builder.” It looks great and has won a few trophies at shows, but the seller is no longer able to cope with the aggressive riding position or kick start so his Norton has to go.
Other features of this bike (VIN: 207657) include fresh paint, 10.5:1 Hepolite pistons, Boyer electronic ignition, Superblend bearings, Webb cam, 32mm Amals, Production Racer kick start lever, BAP petcocks, K&N air filter, and plenty more.
