After the 860GT flopped, Ducati released the sport touring Darmah SD900 – and it was much more successful from a commercial standpoint. Plus it just looks much better, even if that’s a subjective observation. Here’s an example that’s been restored to the impressive standards of Austin Vintage Cycle.

Disclosure: Austin Vintage Cycle (seller of this Ducati) is a paid sponsor of Bike-urious. With that said, they have no say in what I get to feature and I would have shared this anyway because it’s awesome. Still, I figure you should be aware of this!

This bike (VIN: 900747) had just 3,500 miles when it was restored, though it had evidence of a crash before it was put in storage. Lots of people say a bike is restored after it’s been given a little bit of work, but when AVC says they “decided to do a full restoration,” you know it means they took care of even the littlest detail. The work included a total tear down, top end rebuild, rechroming of all chrome parts, rebuilt forks, brake calipers, brake pumps, and plenty more…the list truly goes on. The tank, tail, and side covers have been repainted, and somehow they were able to source a pair of NOS tires.
