In the world of adventure motorcycle rentals and guided tours, few companies have had success like MotoQuest. I’ve only met a few of their employees, but all of them have been knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about getting people out and exploring on motorcycles. As you might guess, they offer one-way rentals – but that can lead to inventory problems. So MotoQuest offers “Transporter Specials”, which are discounted one-way rentals that give you a chance to ride for less money, and also ensure the company has bikes where they need them to be. Long story short – if you’re lucky enough to be available for the next two weeks, you can take a bike up to Alaska for very, very cheap.
Starting from either Long Beach, California or Portland, Oregon, you can rent a BMW R1200GS or F800GS for free (though there’s a $15/day mandatory insurance). Gas, airplane tickets, food – that’s all on you, but you’re not going to find a cheaper motorcycle rental anywhere else! Head on over to the MotoQuest Transporter Special page for more details and the chance to sign up. First come, first serve, so move quickly if you’re interested.
And if you go, please let me know, so I can know who I’m supposed to be jealous of.
