Post Sale Update: this R100R sold for $3,600 after 30 bids on eBay.

The R100R was one of the last of the airhead boxer twins that BMW ever produced. Between 1991-1995, just 20,898 examples were built. This…was not one of those bikes, as it started as a R100RT tourer but was “professionally converted” at some point.

Whether it’s the R or the RT, the motor is a 980cc air-cooled twin with an oil cooler, Brembo brakes, 5-speed transmission, and shaft driver. This Capri Green example (VIN: WB1046904N6293817) is technically a one owner bike – the original owner (82 year old female) felt the bike was getting too heavy so she had to sell it, and that happened last year.

Over the last year, the seller has performed a lot of work – changing out the fluids, new front brake line, new front tire, new grips, and plenty more. Flaws include some scratches on the tank from the original RT fairing, a tear on the seat, and a rear tire that needs to be replaced. The seller rates it as “7.5/10 cosmetically and 10/10 mechanically”. The seller has an album with over 100 pictures if you want to look in more detail, or can watch this video:
