The Suzuki LS650, also known as a Savage, used to roll off the factory floor as a simple entry-level cruiser (it’s since been replaced by the S40 Boulevard). But it’s proven to be an interesting platform for cafe racers, as shown by companies like Ryca, as well as a starting point for scrambler builds, like today’s featured example from Droog Moto. What’s your verdict on the final result – would you ride it?
Highlights of the work include a custom subframe and monoshock system, the front end from a Suzuki GSX-R 750, the rear wheel from a Suzuki GS550, LED lighting, Biltwell grips on oversized LSL bars, and a custom high exhaust. The donor bike had 8,000 miles when the work was done, and the listing says just 50 miles were put on afterwards. One of the signature touches are the wheel inserts, which are made from aluminum to keep weight down. This build was recently featured on BikeBrewers (check out the post here) and will be making it to BikeBound soon as well.
For more information, check out the DroogMoto site, where they simply call this build “Moto 6”. Or, find this Savage Scrambler for sale here on Craigslist in Glacier, Washington for $7,800.
