Yamaha’s RD500 was a sportbike that has a special place in the hearts of US 80s 2-stroke fans because it was never officially imported here. Nearly all of the examples you now find were brought in from Canada (where it was called the RZ500, hence the title in the seller’s listing).
Here’s an example that has 11,600 miles, just 100 of which were put on since an engine rebuild last July. It’s had plenty of parts replaced with OEM units, and some aftermarket goodies – Brembo full floating front rotors originally for the FZ750, fiberglass tail and seat, and of course, the Marlboro paint job. Consider it to be a standard RD500 with nicer front brakes and a semi-replica paint job.
