Harley’s popular Sportster has become a common starting point for motorcycle customizers. This example was originally purpose built for APG-1350 class Land Speed Racing, but has only seen street use, having been titled as a Buell X1 Lightning.
The profile is impressively skinny, which the seller claims makes it easier to split lanes. While I agree that’s true, he’s also added 10 degrees of rake – which would help land speed aspirations, but not nimble movements in and out of traffic. This bike has had some serious engine work done, including a new top end on a 1250cc Buell unit, with big bore cylinders, pistons, heads, and more from NRHS. In addition, you’ll get Daytona twin tech ignition, S&S Super E carb, and enough mods where the engine put down 99.8 horsepower to the rear wheel with high test pump gas. Weighing 425 pounds, the bike is estimated to hit the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds.
