Post Sale Update: This R90S sold for $11,500 after 15 bids on eBay.
I adore the BMW R90S, which was a game-changer when it was released to the world. With oversight from Hans Muth, this bike was built to show the world that BMW could make more than just touring bikes for old guys. Reg Pridmore helped soldify that claim with a first place finish in the first ever AMA Superbike Championship series in 1976.
The airhead engine produced 67 horsepower and 56 pound-feet of torque. Last year, BMW celebrated its 90th anniversary, as well as the 40th anniversary of the R90S. To commemorate the milestone, BMW hired Roland Sands to build a homage to this bike (though in the very distinctive orange paint scheme). For more information (and a lot of lovely pictures), check out the RSD page for the Concept 90.
This specific BMW R90S has 28,903 miles and is claimed to be all original. The carbs have been freshly rebuilt and the fluids have been changed. While it’s in good shape, there are some scratches in the paint. The bike comes with the hard-to-find OEM cover as well as the bags and tool pouch.
