Post Sale Update – Sophia sold for $10,600 after 17 bids on eBay.

The V7 Sport may be the most iconic of Moto Guzzi’s long lineup of street bikes. It’s a gorgeous, simple motorcycle that deserves to be brought back in the current wave of manufacturers building retro bikes. But I digress. The seller of this bike says this is “the only motorcycle I have ever owned that merited a name. She handles great, is fast, stops well, and is very refined. She is old but beautiful and very dignified.” Cue the Susan Sarandon voice over sad music: her name is Sophia, and she deserve a new home because the seller is getting old and doesn’t enjoy the riding position anymore.

Sophia (VIN: DGM91040M) has been with the seller for 20 years – he believes that it’s a ’73 although it’s titled as a ’74. Over the years, the bike got some “small and subtle” upgrades including BUB mufflers, K&N air filters, the shift drum from a LeMans to yield a standard 1 down/4 up shift pattern, modern petcocks, and more. The seller has all of the stock parts.
