Post-Listing Update: This Tracy-bodied Triumph did not meet reserve as the 11 bids only got up to $5,105.
In the Trident model line, the T150 was the odd man out. The ‘breadbox’ tank and other styling features did not resonate with buyers of the time, and nowadays the bikes are usually overshadowed by the T160 generation or any of the BSA Rockets. But this Triumph Trident Cafe Racer won’t have any of those problems thanks to an interesting (and rare) bodywork package designed by Tracy Fiberglass Fabricator Works.
For more about the Trident (and if you need a refresher of the original bike looks like), check out this buyers guide on the T150 generation here on Sump Publishing. Or for more on Tracy Fiberglass bodies, check out this summary from XS Cafe.
This specific Triumph Trident Cafe Racer (VIN: T150VHJ43720) has plenty of additional modifications in addition to the bodywork (which the seller claims is 1 out of just 7 kits built). The bike has been cosmetically restored and it has a newly rebuilt engine. It has 4,704 miles, but none has been added since the engine was rebuilt and a 867cc Norman Hyde big bore kit was installed for a hefty jump in power. You’ll also get Norman Hyde dual front disc brakes, Marzocchi shocks, Sun Rims, and plenty more. It’s all topped off with a paint job inspired by Rob North’s bikes.
