If any mile-eater ever deserved the title of “Everyman’s GT,” it’s the first-generation Concours. This was Japan’s first viable volley into the sport-touring wars and the impact was felt as far as BMW corporate. Lacking the budget of the largest motorcycle manufacturers, Kawasaki based their bread and butter models on relatively simple but effective designs and stuck with them, spreading development costs—and profits—over longer periods. This model was produced from 1986 to 2006, an incredibly long marketing run in today’s world.
This particular bike is a ’95, benefiting a bit from an assortment of updates to the 1994 model. Concours tend to be ridden a lot so this one is just a babe at only 23,000 miles. Very presentable with full luggage and other niceties, it’s offered at only $1,500 here on ADVRider (registration required). The bike is currently in New York state, but will soon be relocating to Florida.
