The year was 1973 and Clint Eastwood’s “Magnum Force” is the #1 box office hit all over America. Probably the best supporting actor award should have gone to the Moto Guzzi Eldorados that all the rogue cops rode. It was great advertising for the new Eldorado line from Guzzi.
The Eldorado was released in 1972, and by 1973 was in service with lots of police and highway patrols around the country. The Eldo was powered by a 844cc Overhead Valve V-Twin that put out 64 HP. Dry clutch, 5 speed transmission (with a long throw heel and toe shifter) and shaft drive result in a top speed of 116 MPH.
This particular Eldorado lives in Gainsville, Georgia and has an asking price of $5,000. I believe factory Guzzi bags are installed, the owner says he has just had the tank cleaned and sealed. Manuals, spare carbs and other parts are included and you can find all the details right here on Cycle Trader.
You didn’t really think I’d let this go by without a picture from ‘Magnum Force”, did you? Even though Clint rode a Triumph…
