You’ve seen two wheel drive bikes before thanks to companies like Rokon. But thanks to a fancy mechanical system enclosed within the head tub and frame, Christini has been the most successful manufacturer of two wheel drive bikes that can go anywhere and do it quickly. Nowadays they offer bikes in 300 and 450 displacements – the smaller option utilizes a Rieju two-stroke engine, and that’s what we’re featuring today!
Per the seller, there’s no difference between the 2017 model he’s selling and the new 2023 offering beyond the bodywork. If that’s the case, then both bikes come with a Rieju 300cc two-stroke engine (also offered in GasGases) with a 6-speed transmission, Keihin 38mm carb, aluminum perimeter frame, FMF exhaust, Excel rims with billet hubs, and more. I don’t have any experience with a Christini myself, but I have ridden a 2WD KTM and even back in the days when I was a relative off-road beginner, that bike was an absolute revelation. This example has a Rekluse clutch, and I have to imagine that the Rekluse paired with 2WD must be the closest thing one could get to cheating when it comes to riding off-road.
The seller of this example say she’s the second owner and that he acquired it three years ago. There’s no odometer or hour meter so you’re just going to have to trust the seller’s statement that the first owner put 20 hours on it and he hasn’t ridden it much himself. Impressively, it’s been plated so you could dual-sport this thing if you wanted to.
