I think the SuperHawk is one of the most underappreciated motorcycles in recent memory. Honda reliability, streetable ergonomics, and a lovely V-Twin motor. Think RC51, but easier to live with.
I think these bikes got a bad rap, and I’m not entirely sure why – it seems that people like to tease it just because it wasn’t as hardcore as a RC51. I’ve heard it referred to as the “Super Chicken”, and a quote in the sale listing is worth sharing as well: “Riding a VTR 1000 is like dating a librarian with a secret life. Your friends will tease you but you’ll giggle after every ride.”
This example has approximately 17,600 miles on the odometer, and it’s mostly original with a few reasonable modifications – Yoshimura exhaust, Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen, bar risers, and 6-spoke CBR wheels that have been freshly powdercoated gold. Everything is said to work, and I think it looks quite sharp with the wheels.
