Post Listing Update: After 8 bids on eBay, this Yammie racer did not meet reserve at $3,550.
This bike started off as a one-year only DS7 (a two-stroke 250cc twin) but it’s now a TD2-esque road racer that would be an awesome way to get into AHRMA vintage racing.
Stock, the DS7 was good for 93 miles per hour thanks to 30 horsepower through a five-speed transmission. The TD2 production road racer utilized a DS6 motor, and thanks to fettling from Yamaha’s engineering department it produced 44 horsepower. This example (VIN: 351-112159) will be closer to the lower number, though it has a fresh motor rebuilt by Rusty Bigley and a rebuilt crank by Kurt Lentz. The motor has never been started since the rebuild was performed.
This build includes a top clamp from a Yamaha TZ, disc brake conversion, Sun aluminum wheels with Buchanan spokes, Progressive shocks, DG exhaust, the bodywork from a TD2, a new windscreen, and rebuilt carbs to complement the rebuilt motor.
