I’m sure I’ll get someone who wants to say that the Cucciolo was actually Ducati’s first motorcycle – but that was really just a bicycle with a mounted engine. The evolution of the Cucciolo (which translated to “little puppy”) was the Ducati 60, what the firm considered to be a “light motorcycle”.

The next development of the Cucciolo was the Ducati 60, the first that was actually considered a “Light-motorcycle.” Later on Ducati would release a sport version which began the company’s long tradition of racing motorcycles. But the Italian company themselves sayDucati 60 can be rightfully defined as the first motorcycle ever produced in the history of Ducati.”

This example is said to be in “running and riding condition.” the seller notes that the lights work and the chain guard is not original – he also suggests that it might be the “oldest real Ducati in the US.” I have no idea if that’s true, but it’s got to be one of the earliest ones!
