The staff of MCN considered Honda’s RVF400 (also known as the NC35) to be one of the best riding 400s of all time, saying “in its day it handled with all the agility and precision of a 250cc Grand Prix bike compared to old litre-sized buses like the GSX-R1100, and relatively big supersports machines like the FZR600.”
The 399cc DOHC V4 engine is liquid-cooled and comes with gear driven cams and four 28mm carbs – apparently they sound fantastic. It produces a maximum of 59 horsepower, but you’ll need to be at 13,000 rpm to feel all those ponies.
This example is extra special as it’s been titled in Colorado. It has just over 10,000 miles and lots of upgrades – Penske rear shock, wider Kosman rear wheel, Dymag magnesium front wheel, stainless steel brake lines, JHA exhaust, Tyga steering damper, and solo seat with rear cowl. The stock passenger seat is included, plus the seller has extra spare parts and a spare motor that needs to be rebuilt.
