Toy Intermission – Scare Cycles

In Intermissions by Abhi1 Comment

Happy Halloween tomorrow (or today, if you only get Bike-urious posts through the daily email)! Here’s a story shared by reader Dan P. about some former Halloween-appropriate motorcycle toys.

Starting in 1973, the Ideal Toy Company released a series of Evel Knievel-branded toys. In 1977, Evel attacked Shelly Saltman with a baseball bat after Evel thought Shelly’s book misrepresented the former and his family. Read that article if you’re ready to lose some respect for the famous stuntman. Ideal figured this was a good time to switch out their Evel toys for something else, and they came up with the Scare Cycles.

Options included the Frankencycle, Dracucycle, and the Boneshaker. For more information on these nifty toys, check out this review of the Frankenstein model on CollectionDX.
