Post Listing Update: This XR750 did not meet reserve despite 19 bids up to $22,200.
Tom Berry Sr., was a professional AMA flat track racer who competed between 1970 – 1980. He spent some of that time on this Trackmaster-framed XR750, then the bike was campaigned by Matt George and Rodney Noel before being “placed on display some years ago.”
According to the seller, Trackmaster made just six frame for the legendary XR750 – “one went to Harley-Davidson and the others presumably were sold to racing teams.” He/she also notes that one was wrecked, leaving four out in the public. In addition to the TM frame and XR motor, this example (VIN: 1C10067H7) is packing a Supertrapp exhaust, DID wheels, Carl Patrick Racing primary and starter, Ceriani front end, Fairbanks Morse magneto, WP Suspension shocks, Grimeca rear brake, and a Oberg UFO oil filter. It’s been on display for several years but the seller says that it just needs fuel to be a runner.
