Modern Triumph three-cylinders are responsible for some of the most fun I’ve ever had on two-wheels. The powerband on these bikes is so usable and torquey, they really are a pleasure to ride. My biggest caveat with the Speed and Street Triple machines is their headlight assemblies, which is unfortunately a fairly defining aesthetic quality. So the redone front end in this example that features a mono-headlight is beyond welcome as far as I’m concerned. Despite this modified British bike being a fairly high-mileage example – somewhere in the ballpark of 40,000-miles – the owner says it’s been very well maintained with all regular service performed, adding the bike runs strong with no mechanical issues and has never been down.
The front end conversion includes Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 fork cartridges and the forks and triple clamps from a Triumph Daytona 675, which is a machine that handles wonderfully. A Wilbers rear shock was swapped in for the stock unit. The brakes on this modern Triumph have been swapped out for Nissin Radial calipers(from a Daytona) and a Brembo 19 RCS brake master cylinder, married via stainless braided front brake lines. According to the seller, $3k was spent on just upgrading the brakes and suspension alone.
A pair of Woodcraft clipons – with single CRG hindsight mirror and new grips – and set of Attack performance rearsets give the already sporty Street Triple an even more aggressive riding position. The $600 Motodemic single headlight conversion also utilizes lowered gauges which keeps the front end nice and clean while a rear cowl cover performs the same task on the opposite end. Aluminum engine bolt kit, LSL Sprocket Cover, Upgraded stator and voltage regulator, and full Arrow Exhaust system round out the list of upgrades on this scoot.
A new chain, new brake pads, and brake fluid were all just added and a major scheduled services was just recently performed. The upgrades to this machine are all pretty tasteful and practical and objectively make this example a more competent machine. Again, despite the mileage being relatively high, this bike has been well kept and cared for and its pride appears to reflect the number on the odo. This is one of a handful of bikes I’ve featured that I’m legitimately considering purchasing. The stock Street Triple is a joy to pilot and these upgraded example that at the same time looks better (in my opinion) than the stock Striple.
You can find this modified 2010 Triumph Street Triple for sale here on Craigslist in Los Angeles, California with a price of $4,500.
