Post Sale Update: This custom Scout sold for $13,600 after 20 bids on eBay.

At one point, this Indian Scout was “semi-stock-correct civilian dress” when the seller ran it at the AMCA Allegheny Mountain Chapter National Road Run in 2014, but then it was “bobbed, stroked to 46 cu. in. with Bonneville cams, broken in approx. 500 miles, then run in the 2016 TROG (The Race of Gentlemen) where it outran 3 out of 5 Brand X vintage 45’s.” It was also shown in Ol’ Skool Rodz magazine (issue #79), and the seller says it’s “now a freaking quick and loud Indian and a cool looking bike.” Do you agree?

This example (VIN: FL62467052) had a tremendous amount of work done 600 miles ago, including stroking the motor out to 46 cubic inches with Bpnneville cams, a rebuilt Linkert 741 carb, installing new kevlar clutch plates, lining the tank, installing a repro Troxel Truform seat, raising the seat for a 6’3″ rider, and plenty more. The bike is currently in a race setup, but any parts that were removed will be included so that you can go back to a street legal configuration with a little bit of wrenching. According to the seller, “this 741 was found in a shed in Florida in the 1950’s near a military base with the crate motor installed, the 19 in. front steel wheel, the earlier fenders, and no title.” He also says you can “race it, ride it street and illegal like I do, or re-configure back to a very powerful legal street Scout with provided original components and color of your choice (though I treasured the aged off-white).”
