Though the model debuted in 1985, Suzuki’s legendary Gixxer line did not make its way to the US until 1986. The changes were minor – better headlights, a revised belly pan, and 25mm longer swingarm, but Americans were probably too busy drooling over the first true street-legal race replica to notice.

This example is being offered by the second owner, who notes that it has just 5,900 miles and it comes with Mikuni carbs and an aftermarket Vance & Hines exhaust that was installed back in 1986. Unfortunately, the bike fell off the stand at some point in the past, leading to a small melted area on the fairing from the exhaust and a separate damaged portion that was repaired but not painted. The sale includes the original exhaust, airbox, and carbs, as well as an additional key with the dealer tag.
