5-11-20 Update: 5 months later, this bike is back up for sale. It’s moved from Los Angeles to Lake Forest, Illinois, but the new owner just bought a new BMW R1250GSA and is looking to free up some space in his garage. He’s installed new Continental TKC80 tires and taken better photos of the bike. He’s asking for $6,500, which is a $500 discount from the asking price when he bought it – now find it here on ADVRider (registration required).

Unit Garage was founded by Fabio Marcaccini, a 5-time Dakar competitor and road racer who now offers ADV-focused products for several European motorcycles. One of his more well-known products is a kit for the 2004-2012 R1200GS that is supposed to evoke the style of the R80. The kit costs approximately $5,000 – here’s your change to get one that’s already been installed for you.

You can buy this in a complete kit or in parts – the complete kit comes painted, weighs about 14 pounds less than the parts it replaces, and takes approximately 4 hours to install. For more on the kit, check out this story on Cycle World or go straight to the Unit Garage site. I think it looks a lot better in white, but it’s still very cool to see! What do you think?

The seller of this R1200GS says that the kit cost him $5,000 and installation was $1,800 – that’s on top of the $800 Akrapovic exhaust and $1,200 luggage. It has 35,840 miles, and it’s an interesting way to have a GS that stands out. Find this bike for sale in Los Angeles, California for $7,000 here on Craigslist.
