US Forest Service – 2004 Gas Gas FSE 450

In Dual-Sport, Spain by AbhiLeave a Comment

Ask 10 different dirt riders who makes the best enduro and you’ll probably get 8 different answers. But apparently if you asked the US Government that question a decade ago, they would have answered with Gas Gas, the not-so-well-known manufacturer from Spain that started in 1985 by some ex-Bultaco distributors.

Gas Gas FSE 450 - Right Side

You got a kick start, electric start, and (slightly ahead of the time) fuel injection. In addition, the suspension was handled by Marzocchi up front and Ohlins in the rear. For more information on the FSE 450, check out this review from dirtbikeworld.

This example has less than 3,000 miles and I think it looks awesome in the USFS green (and sticker up front!) It’s currently plated and registered in California and it comes with a front fender bag, soft saddlebags, and new Pirelli trials tires. If this was available when I was looking for a dual-sport (I settled on a KTM 450XC), I wouldn’t even be writing this post – I’d be on my way over to the seller right now. Alas, I’m not going to buy this, so find this ex-Forest Service bike for sale in Grass Valley, California for $3,500 here on Craigslist.
