In 1992, Yamaha offered 600 examples of a limited edition replica of their Vance & Hines AMA Supersport bike. This is #505, and it’s nicest example I’ve seen offered of a model that rarely comes up for sale.
Most examples I’ve seen feature a Vance & Hines SS2-R exhaust, but V&H also offered extra go-fast parts for the FZR at the time, such as the steering damper that this example (VIN: JYA3HHE07NA042109) is equipped with. The seller (who is the second owner) has added a couple of extras, including a color-matched Second Look seat cover and a rear cowl for solo rider work. It has 10,838 miles but it’s spent “some time” in the seller’s personal museum collection. He had his mechanic bring it back to life before the sale, and the work included a flush of the engine oil, fuel system, and brake systems. The bike also got lots of new parts – spark plugs, brake pads, battery, front and rear tires, coolant, air filter, fuel filter, chain, clutch cable, and more. The seller claims this bike is in excellent condition and that everything works.
