Verde Legnano Special Edition – 2015 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer

In 1971, Guzzi introduced the instant-classic V7 Sport, and they made the first 150 models extra special with green bodywork and red frame. The initial bikes were known as Telaio Rosso (red frames), and some people consider them to be the prettiest Guzzis ever built. You may not agree, but you can’t deny that they were special. To commemorate that iconic bike, Guzzi released 50 of their reborn V7 with a similar paint scheme, exclusively in the North American market. Or if you’re cynical like me, you think that they just tarted up the remaining stock of the V7 Racer before the V7-II came out…

The new special edition is the Verde Legnano, named after that green bodywork. The mechanicals are the same as the base bike, with a 744cc V-Twin that produces about 50 horsepower through a 5 speed box – annoyingly they based the special edition on the old bike so you’ll have to wait for the V7-II to get the 6 speed transmission, standard ABS/traction control, lower seat height, and more, including an adjustment of the angle in which the engine is mounted so that it’s now better aligned with the driveshaft. For the snazzy colors and the 1-in-50 exclusivity, you’d have to pony up $10,999. But it looks like the fancy paint wasn’t enough to move all 50, as we have a leftover model that is waiting for an owner, and now it has a discount.
